How a company gets listed

A listing is a real company that sells tours or activities, checked on its own website before it is added. Travel blogs, review sites and other directories are left out, and so are hotels, airlines, transfer services, ocean cruise lines and venues that sell only their own admission. Official city cards are listed as passes. One company gets one entry: a business with several country sites or sister brands is listed once, and a company whose own website we cannot read is not listed, however well known it is.

Category membership needs evidence from the company itself. A company joins accessible tours because it describes what it adapts, joins free walking tours because it runs on tips, and joins shore excursions because it sells excursions to cruise passengers in port for the day. We do not infer those things from a photo or a tour name.

How the write-ups are written

Every write-up is built from the company's own published pages: tour pages, FAQs, booking terms, about pages and contact details. It reports what the company says, attributes the company's own claims to it, and marks what the company leaves out. We have not joined the tours, so a write-up describes what is on offer rather than how a given day went. Prices, schedules and cancellation rules change, so check the current terms on the company's site before you book.

How listings are ordered

Within a category, listings are ordered by a score that combines how often readers click through to a company, how widely visited the company's own site is, and a small editorial weight. Star ratings, where shown, come from visitors.

Money

Companies are not charged to be listed. Some outbound links are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you book after clicking. That does not change which companies are listed or what their write-ups say.

Suggestions and corrections

If a company is missing, you can suggest it through the submission form. If a listing has a fact wrong, or a company has changed its terms, send a note through the contact form. It is the only way to reach us.
