Private guides for Bangkok and the provinces around it

Your Thai Guide is a Bangkok company that books private, licensed Thai tour guides by the day. It does not run group departures or sell set packages: "We don't sell packaged tours," the Bangkok page says. "We connect you with experienced private guides who help design a day around what you want to see, eat, explore, or understand about Bangkok." The footer gives the company as Your Thai Guide Co,. Ltd. and the sidebar says it holds Tourism Authority of Thailand License No. 14/02864. It describes itself as a Thai-owned company that has "been doing this for 15 years," and its recruiting page shows that its guides work with it as freelancers.

Everything happens in and around Bangkok. The menu lists Bangkok, Ayutthaya, Pattaya, Damnoen Saduak, Kanchanaburi and Hua Hin, and the homepage adds the floating markets and train markets as day trips. Prices are in US dollars.

What a day with a guide can include

The homepage invites travelers to "Discover historical landmarks, vibrant markets, serene temples, and hidden gems with a custom itinerary built around your interests," and lists visit pages for the Grand Palace, Wat Arun, the Golden Mount, the flower market, a canal tour, Bang Pa In and elephants. The Bangkok page describes what recent custom days have covered: street art and graffiti walks through old Bangkok, silk and textile shopping with visits to weaving workshops, sunrise and sunset photography routes, wellness days built around traditional Thai massage, and family days with flexible pacing. It promises access to "The 5 AM market where Bangkok chefs buy ingredients" and a family restaurant "with no English menu but incredible massaman curry."

Day trips go further out. The site describes Ayutthaya as the ancient capital with temple ruins, says the floating-market trips can go to Damnoen Saduak or Amphawa depending on whether a traveler wants a local experience or better photos, and presents Kanchanaburi, with the Bridge over the River Kwai and war museums, as needing a full day. According to the Bangkok page, all day trips include private transportation, guide services, itinerary planning and the flexibility to change the plan on the day.

A long canal guide on the site explains Bangkok's waterways, from the Chao Phraya River piers at Tha Tien, Tha Chang and Phra Arthit to the narrow Thonburi khlongs and the Khlong Saen Saep commuter boats, and says a private guide "can handle all these details for you," from choosing the route to negotiating the boat price.

The guides and how the day runs

The guides are shown by name with their license numbers, among them Waree "Apple" Singhanart (1-029055), "ChooChai" Boonsrangjamrus (1-019815), Nattapatch "Gwen" Sajjadhammakoon (1-023160) and Kanchana "Kanny" Mayteekriengkrai (1-034632), and the booking form lets a traveler request any of them or "Any Guide." The site says every guide is TAT licensed, a Bangkok local and a fluent English speaker, and the recruiting page asks applicants for a Platinum or Silver license from the Department of Tourism and Sport and "Great English skills." One guide, Yuut, is described as a former monk.

On the day, the Bangkok page says, the guide meets travelers at their hotel at the agreed time with an outline that is "a framework, not a rigid schedule," handles transportation and tickets, and adjusts the pace. The site says guides will take photos for their clients. The company says it trains guides in 6 principles: punctual and well-paced, friendly and flexible, knowledgeable with passion, interactive and observant, genuinely fun, and respectful of the moment, which it explains as knowing when to stop talking and let a place speak for itself. The guide profiles lean the same way, describing Apple as someone who "plans efficient routes, avoids crowds," Gwen as "great with families," and TK as "especially good at navigating busy spots." The FAQ says dietary restrictions and mobility limitations can be planned for if raised at booking, and that temple tours "can be modified for mobility considerations."

Price, booking and cancellation

The pricing section is specific. Private guide services "start at $132 USD per day for up to 8 hours tour," which includes a dedicated licensed guide for the full day, an itinerary outline, logistics handling (tickets, reservations, navigation) and flexibility during the day. Not included are temple entry fees, which the site puts at "typically $0-40 total," meals for the traveler and the guide, and personal shopping. Multi-day tours and groups of more than 4 people are priced individually. The site also promises "No mandatory shopping stops" and "No commission-based restaurant recommendations."

Booking is by a form that asks for the tour date, hotel, a mobile number, a preferred guide and the plan; the company says it responds "within 24 hours with options and guide recommendations," and questions can go to serviceplease@yourthaiguide.com. After booking, it contacts travelers about interests, energy level and mobility. The FAQ suggests booking 0-3 months ahead, with last-minute requests sometimes possible. On cancellation, it says only: "Contact us as early as possible, and we'll work with you on rescheduling based on timing and circumstances."

The sidebar shows Tripadvisor badges for Travelers' Choice 2020, 2023, 2024 & 2025, Hall of Fame 2018 & 2019, and Certificate of Excellence 2012 to 2017, and the site claims "over 5,000 five-star reviews."

What is left open, and who it suits

The main gap is cancellation: the FAQ talks about rescheduling but sets no refund window or fee, so anyone who might need their money back should ask before paying. Prices for groups above 4 people, multi-day tours and the day trips beyond Bangkok are not published, and the site does not say how payment is taken.

Your Thai Guide suits couples, families and small groups who want one English-speaking licensed guide for a whole day, with the plan shaped around their interests, and who like the idea of choosing that guide from named profiles. It is especially well matched to first-time Bangkok visitors and to families traveling with children or older relatives, both of whom the FAQ addresses directly. Travelers looking for a cheap shared tour or a fixed itinerary at a fixed price are not who it is built for.
