A Prague team of certified guides

100 Spires City Tours is a Prague company that runs its own walking tours with its own guides, and it works only in Prague and, for one private day trip, Kutna Hora. The footer names the company as 100 Spires City Tours s.r.o., with an address in Praha 2, Nové Město. The homepage invites visitors to "Join 100 Spires City Tours for award-winning free walking tours and private experiences led by certified Prague locals. Rated 5 stars by 9000+ travelers." It breaks that figure down as "6000+ on Google, 3000+ on TripAdvisor", and adds that the team is also known as Real Prague Guides on YouTube.

The guides are introduced by name on the homepage, each with a short profile: Nico, Vaclav, Jakub, Katerina, David, Iva, Kuba, Kamil, Daniel, Valery and James. Several say they were born in Prague and are "officially certified"; one says he has guided "since 1998", another "for over 13 years", and one describes a background as an actor in Czech TV. The company's own summary is that "Most of our team are born and raised in Prague; all completed professional guide certification."

Tours cover the Old Town, the Jewish Quarter, Charles Bridge, Prague Castle and the Castle District, Mala Strana (Lesser Town), the WWII and Communist history of the New Town, and Vysehrad.

4 free tours, and the private range

The free tours page lists "4 different free walking tours", all run on the pay-what-you-wish model the site describes as "A tour where you are in charge of deciding your own price."

• Old Town, Jewish Quarter and Charles Bridge Free Tour. The homepage says guests "Learn to read the Astronomical Clock, discover the Prague Golem legend, walk across Charles Bridge". The schedule lists it every day at 10:00, 11:15 and 15:00, plus 17:00 every day in summer. The site recommends it as the first tour for first-time visitors.
• Prague Castle Free Walking Tour. Daily at 11:00, with a second daily departure at 14:00 from November to March or 15:00 from April to October. The homepage calls the castle "the largest ancient castle in the world".
• Free WWII and Communism Tour. The tour page says it runs "Every day except Monday"; the schedule gives 10:00 on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday and 14:00 on Wednesday and Saturday. It covers the Munich Agreement, the Anthropoid operation, the Prague Uprising, the fate of Prague's Jews, Jan Palach and the Velvet Revolution, with a walk from the Dancing House to the Church of St. Cyril and Methodius.
• Ghost and Legends Free Tour. This starts in Novy Svet, "the former slums located at the city walls", and visits the place where the alchemist Edward Kelley had his laboratory, then New Castle Steps and Castle District Square. The tour page says it runs Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday "at 7 PM or 8 PM" depending on sunset, while the schedule on the free tours page lists 19:00 from October to April and 21:00 from May to September on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. The booking calendar settles which is current.

Meeting points and rules on the day

The homepage tells guests to "Look for a giant red umbrella with a number '100' in white", and says meeting-point details follow in the booking confirmation. The WWII and Ghost tour pages both give the meeting point near the Malostranska metro exit, with directions: the green A metro line to Malostranska, trams 22, 15, 20, 18, 2 or 12 to the Malostranska stop, or a 5-10 min walk from near Charles Bridge and 15-20 min from Old Town Square.

The rules are unusually detailed. Free tours are "in English language only", and "we limit our tour group size to 30 people max." The site says "Only customers with active reservations are guaranteed a spot on our free tour"; walk-ins wait to see if there is room. Parties of more than 8 are not accepted without prepayment, groups of 9 to 14 book as a Large Group, and "Groups of 15 or more cannot be accommodated." Guests should arrive 15 minutes early for the WWII tour and 10 minutes early for the Ghost tour, which takes a tram up to the castle; that tour also needs a public transport ticket for 39 CZK (1,6 EUR).

On access, the company rates the WWII walk as moderate, about 4 km with few breaks and seats, and suggests a private tour for anyone with mobility issues. It says the Ghost tour "is not accessible for wheelchair users and those with large strollers". Free tours do not enter synagogues, which need an admission fee and a special guiding permit.

Private tour prices and payment

The private tours page publishes rates by group size, in EUR and CZK. The First Timers, Castle and Castle District, and Mysteries and Legends tours cost 160 EUR/4000 CZK for 1-5 people, rising to 330 EUR/8000 CZK for 26-30. The WWII and Vysehrad tours run from 200 EUR/4850 CZK to 370 EUR/8950 CZK, See-It-All from 320 EUR/8000 CZK to 660 EUR/16.000 CZK, and the Complete Prague Castle Tour from 160 EUR/4000 CZK for 1-4 people, with castle tickets not included. Rates rise by 50% at Easter, over the May holidays and at Christmas, on dates the page lists.

Private tours are booked by email to info@100spirescitytours.cz, and the site asks for "2-3 weeks in advance" and says it cannot handle last-minute requests. A booking is confirmed only once the deposit arrives, and the site calls it "a non-refundable deposit (included in our rates)", paid by PayPal, Revolut or bank transfer. The rest is paid to the guide at the meeting point, in CZK, EUR or USD cash or by card, since guides carry portable terminals. The page is equally clear on what the company does not offer: custom itineraries, student discounts, headsets, boat or bus tours, airport pick-ups, or tours inside the Jewish Museum's synagogues.

What stays open

The site does not say whether a private-tour booking can be moved or cancelled beyond the non-refundable deposit, and the Terms and Conditions sit on a separate page. The Ghost tour's days and times differ between its own page and the schedule. Free tours come only in English, and the site does not say whether private tours are offered in other languages.

This is a strong fit for English-speaking visitors who want a named, certified local guide and a choice of themes, from the castle to WWII to ghost stories, with every rule written down. It suits less well a large group, which will need to book a paid option, or anyone who wants a private tour at short notice.
