An Adventure Travel Company With Andean Roots
FlashpackerConnect designs and sells guided and self-guided adventure trips, delivered by local guides it selects and, in some places, by partner companies. Its About page says founders LeAnn and Brandon Morris left their jobs in 2014 to build the company, and elsewhere says it was "Founded in the Andes of Peru," where it "pioneered the first trail to the Rainbow Mountain, bringing the first travelers to the location in 2015." The page describes connecting travelers "with the best local guides and experts," and some trips run with named partners such as EcoCamp Patagonia. The About page gives its size as 7 team members, 10,000+ trips booked, 1,500+ reviews and 25+ countries.
The name comes from the company's idea of the traveler it serves. The About page defines a flashpacker as someone "Built on the foundation of a backpacker" who "seeks an authentic travel experience without compromising on comfort and convenience," embracing "the carry-on lifestyle," and the homepage invites visitors "to experience countries as a traveler not a tourist."
Its destinations menu lists countries from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile and Peru through Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador and the Galápagos to France, Iceland, Italy, Slovenia, Switzerland, Nepal, Japan, Jordan, Morocco, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, the USA and Vietnam. The featured trips, and the team's own experience, lean toward South America: a travel advisor from Patagonia specializes in Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Uruguay, Paraguay, Peru and Brazil.
The Featured Trips
The Featured Trips page lists each trip with its type, length, season, difficulty and a price in USD. In Chilean Patagonia, the self-guided W Trek over 5 days costs $1,640 USD camping, $1,950 USD using refugios and $1,825 USD for an all-inclusive West to East version, all run September to April. Guided options include a 5-day W Trek staying in EcoDomes at EcoCamp Patagonia for $1,600, the Epic W Trek "lead by our experienced mountain guide" for $2,995, and Highlights of the Chilean Patagonia over 8 days, with penguins and a kayak to Glacier Grey, for $2,495.
In Argentina, a 2-Day Fitz Roy Base Camp Trek with a night camping costs $855 and the 6-day Los Glaciares and Fitz Roy trip $1,675, both rated moderate to difficult. Peru has the Inca Trail Trek to Machu Picchu over 4 days for $975, rated difficult, a 4-day Bucket List Cusco trip for $850 and Ausangate and Rainbow Mountain llama treks from $625. Elsewhere, Slovenia's Hiking and Trekking Highlights runs 8 days from late June to September for $2,200, South Africa's Cape, Whales and Safari, a private guided trip including Kruger National Park, costs $3,950, and a group Everest Base Camp Trek over 14 days has a scheduled October 2026 departure.
The list goes further into South America than the headline treks. Best of El Chaltén runs 4 days for $1,195 and Best of Argentina 11 days for $3,200, taking in the mountains and the Mendoza wine region. In Chile, an EcoDome Multi Sport Adventure over 6 days mixes hiking, biking, kayaking and horseback riding in Torres del Paine for $3,360 from November to March, and an Extended W Trek over 7 days starts in the remote Bernardo O'Higgins National Park for $4,050. Bolivia: Amazon Jungle to the Salt Flats runs 10 days for $1,945, the Bolivia and Peru Explorer 13 days for $2,450, and in Colombia, tours of Caño Cristales, the "Rainbow River," run 3 or 4 days for $1,095 or $1,350 between June and November.
The Tour du Mont Blanc in Detail
The 7-day self-guided Tour du Mont Blanc with private hotel rooms, listed at $2,450 USD per person for June to September, shows how a self-guided trip works. It starts in Chamonix, where hikers receive "a comprehensive travel pack," and links sections of the trail by transfers and lifts: the Bellevue cable car, Notre-Dame-de-la-Gorge, the Col de la Seigne into Italy and the Grand Col Ferret into Switzerland. Daily stages are given in figures, for example 5 to 7 hours of hiking with ascents of 750 to 1250 m. Private transfers on days 3, 4 and 6 are included; public transport and chairlifts (approx. 50 €) and pack lunches (€10-€15) are not, and an extra night in Chamonix can be added for 95 euros per person.
The page's own FAQ calls the TMB "moderately difficult" and says hikers should be in good physical shape with some prior hiking experience. The FAQ puts the full trail at approximately 170 km (105 miles), usually walked in 7 to 12 days, and says a detailed kit list is sent on booking. Other versions on the page include an 8-day self-guided trek using mountain huts, a 12-day self-guided full circuit, and guided 7-day and 9-day departures, while the Featured Trips page lists a 10-day guided comfort trek with hotels at $4,900 USD, rated challenging.
Guides and Support
The About page says "Each of our local guides has been meticulously hand-selected by our team," that the company has "certified mountain guides and specialized staff," and that "Our top priority is safety." These are the company's descriptions. It says it hires locally in every country it works in and supports community give-back initiatives. LeAnn manages the sales team, and team profiles on the About page describe advisors with 11 and 12 years in tourism. The enquiry form promises a reply "within 24 hours." Contact is by email or phone on +1 206-892-8877, and a Build a Custom Trip option sits alongside the fixed trips.
What the Site Leaves Open and Who It Suits
The site does not publish a deposit, a payment schedule or a cancellation policy, and it does not give a maximum group size for the group-guided departures. They also do not say which trips use partner companies on the ground. The founding story gives both 2014 and 2015 on the same page.
FlashpackerConnect suits active travelers who want a trek in Patagonia or Peru with the logistics handled, whether guided or self-guided, and who like seeing a published price, season and difficulty before enquiring. Its self-guided W Trek and Mont Blanc options suit confident hikers who prefer their own pace. It suits less well anyone who wants the full booking terms online before committing, or a large scheduled coach-style tour.
