An Australian Luxury Travel Company With a Walking Focus
OnlyLuxe Travel (the footer names Onlyluxe Travel Pty Ltd) is an Australian luxury travel company that sells packaged walking and cycling holidays, luxury hotel stays, rail journeys and tailor-made trips. Its About page says it was "Founded in 2009" and describes a "travel concierge team" that plans trips, with "expert local guides" on the ground. The pages present OnlyLuxe as the company that designs and sells these trips; they do not say it employs the guides or runs the support vans on its tours itself, so it reads as a specialist seller and trip designer rather than a ground operator. Its tagline is "True Meaning of Luxury."
The destination menu is wide. For Australia it lists walks by track, including the Bibbulmun Track, Cape to Cape Track, Cradle Mountain and Overland Track, Grampians Peaks Trail, Great Ocean Walk and 12 Apostles, Larapinta Trail and Red Centre, Three Capes and Tasman Peninsula and Wilsons Promontory. New Zealand has its own list: the Milford, Routeburn, Kepler, Hollyford, Abel Tasman and Queen Charlotte tracks, the Tongariro Alpine Crossing and more. Beyond that, the menu covers Japan, China, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, the Middle East, Morocco, Tanzania and Mount Kilimanjaro, Canada, the United States, Argentina and Chile, Peru and a long run of European countries from Albania to Switzerland and the Tyrol.
The Walking and Cycling Range
The product pages show the format most clearly for northern Italy. Searches for Como, Garda and Iseo return a set of 6-day tours, most labelled 6D5N (6 days, 5 nights) and marked either "Fully Guided" or "Self-Guided." Examples include Italy's Lake Como and Bellagio Luxury Walk, Italy's Lake Como Deluxe Walk (self-guided), Italy's Lake Como and Lake Maggiore Deluxe Walk (8D7N, self-guided), a Luxury Dolomites to Lake Garda Walk, and cycling tours such as Deluxe Italy Lakes and Vineyards Cycling (Lake Como, Lake Garda and Lake Iseo), Deluxe Italy Lake Iseo Bike, Kayak and Wellness, Parma to Verona and Venice Biking and a Deluxe Grand Alps Cycling tour over 8D7N.
The homepage adds a Luxury Switzerland Swiss Alps Walk from Interlaken to Zermatt (6D5N, fully guided) and a self-guided Luxury Nakasendo Village to Village and Kamikochi Japanese Alps walk (5D4N). Travel articles on the homepage cover the Canadian Rockies, Hokkaido, Lombardy and Indian river cruises.
The same search pages mix in hotels. The Como search returns 25 results, among them COMO The Treasury in Perth, COMO Maalifushi and COMO Cocoa Island in the Maldives, and a 4D3N wellness retreat at COMO Shambhala Estate in Bali. The Garda search lists hotels such as Villa Cordevigo Wine Relais near Verona and Monastero Arx Vivendi in Arco. The menu also carries Australian rail journeys and "Private and luxury journeys" to the Kimberley, Kakadu, Arnhem Land and the Red Centre.
What the Guided Tours Include
The tour descriptions are specific about format. The fully guided Italian walks and rides are described as including 5 nights in hotels on a twin-share basis, with meals and transfers "as specified," and as escorted by "two support vans and three tour leaders on each departure for an average 6:1 guest-to-leader ratio." The Dolomites to Lake Garda walk starts in Bolzano and ends in Verona, with a gondola ride into the Catinaccio range on the first day. One of the cycling tours starts in Bergamo with a guided walk in the Città Alta, and the Lake Iseo rides use Hotel La Pieve in Pisogne, which the site calls the only certified Italy Bike Hotel on the lake.
The self-guided walks work differently. The Lake Como Deluxe Walk includes 5 nights in boutique lakeside hotels, some meals and boat transfers, and the site calls it "of easy level ranging from 3-4 hours" a day on trails and cobbled streets. The 8-day Como and Maggiore walk is rated moderate, at 3 to 4.5 hours a day. These gradings are the company's own.
Booking, Payment and Extras
The site runs as an online store with a login, a My Trips area, gift cards, an Offers page and reward points; the About page says "Reward points await" on bookings, and each tour page notes whether it earns them. Prices can be shown in AUD, GBP, EUR, NZD, SGD or USD through a currency switcher. Hotel listings carry a note that "The accommodation rating and pricing is a guide only" and that pricing "can change at any time," with a request to contact the company for exact pricing.
Each tour page offers a tailor-made route: "Dates or itinerary don't fit? We are specialising in bespoke 'tailor-made' luxury or private journeys." That makes private versions of the group departures something to ask for.
The About page makes three service promises. It says "Our specialists visit all the places we offer to you," that the company uses "only the best expert guides and provide insider tips," and that it looks after clients "from the moment you speak to one of our specialists, until after you have returned home." It also says its portfolio runs from "iconic world-renowned hotels to hidden boutique retreats," and that it plans family adventures and business travel as well as walking holidays. How that support works in practice, for example a phone line during travel, is not spelled out.
What the Site Leaves Open and Who It Suits
The tour listings do not show a price, a departure calendar, a deposit amount or a cancellation policy, so all of that has to come through the booking flow or the concierge team. The site does not name the local companies behind the support vans and tour leaders on the guided departures. The only reviews are four short testimonials on the About page, which are the company's own selection.
OnlyLuxe suits travelers who want a comfortable walking or cycling week, with good hotels and a choice between a guided group and walking on their own, and who like having one company arrange the hotels and extras around it. The Italian lakes range is the most detailed on the site, and the Australian and New Zealand track lists are long. It suits less well anyone looking for a hard, remote trek or a published price to compare before making contact.
