Sydney Private Guided Tours runs its own private tours in Sydney and New South Wales with its own vehicles, and arranges private tours elsewhere in Australia and New Zealand through a network of local guides. The founder, Andrew Sorokin, is described on the about page as "a licensed private tour guide and travel expert based in Sydney, Australia," and the company as "established 2006." He writes: "I personally run every tour in Sydney, and beyond Sydney I lead a hand-picked network of English-speaking local guides in Melbourne, Tasmania, the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Cairns and Perth." The business trades as Antratel Pty Ltd in Sydney, and its prices are in Australian dollars.

The destination menu covers Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns and Port Douglas, the Gold Coast, Tasmania and Uluru, plus shore excursions, multi-day private tours and New Zealand private tours. The about page says Sorokin "has personally researched, designed and led more than 1,000 private tours" over 20 years and that he is "An aviation engineer by education (Moscow Aviation Institute, 1994)."

Credentials and reviews

The site sets out its paperwork in unusual detail. It lists NSW Point-to-Point authorisation BSP-428136 for its vehicles, "A$20,000,000 Public Liability insurance" with Marsh Advantage Insurance, and a certificate of currency running from 12/10/2025 to 12/10/2026. It says Sorokin holds a NSW Light Rigid licence with "0 demerit points" and no offences "for the last 3 years and 4 months," shown with screenshots from the Service NSW app. The company is "listed on the official NSW tourism website sydney.com."

On reviews, the about page says the tours are rated 4.9 across "248+ reviews on TripAdvisor and Google," while the homepage banner shows 4.9 from "209 TripAdvisor + 41 Google reviews" and "Top 10% on TripAdvisor," with Certificate of Excellence badges for several years. The site quotes a testimonial attributed to Kevin Rudd, "26th Prime Minister of Australia." These are the company's own presentation.

The tours

The tours page calls itself "The Largest Selection of Private Tours in Sydney" and lists day tours by region, each with a length. In Sydney there are 8-hour private day tours of the city's east and north, "All Sydney in One Day" at 10 hours, a 4-hour half-day city tour with or without an airport pickup, a 4-hour night tour, a 6-hour shopping tour, and combinations with a helicopter flight, sailing or whale watching. West of the city, the Blue Mountains Private Day Tour runs 8 hours, and a Blue Mountains and Jenolan Caves tour runs 12. The South Coast Private Day Tour is 9 hours, with a Jervis Bay and dolphins cruise day at 11. North of Sydney, the Hunter Valley (wine tasting) Tour is 10 hours and the Port Stephens and Dolphin Watching Tour 11. Canberra day tours run 12 hours, and there is a 2-day Canberra option and a 3-day Canberra and Mt Kosciuszko hike.

Multi-day trips from Sydney include two 5-day NSW Golden Circle routes, a 7 Days Aussie Trip, 10-day trips pairing Sydney with Tasmania or with Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef, a 14-day trip and an 18-day trip billed as "The Best of Australia," as well as "New Zealand in 7 Days." How the tours run and what they cost

All tours are private. The homepage promises "absolutely no joined groups" and describes the format as "Your own guide, your own car, your own pace." The company says it owns its fleet, sized by group: a Mercedes Valente for 1 to 8, a Staria Highlander for 1 to 7, a Mercedes Sprinter for 8 to 14, and larger minibuses and coaches up to 56. Pricing is per vehicle rather than per person. The homepage lists what the price includes: the vehicle, fuel, parking and tolls, the guide for the whole day, the 10% GST, and child seats, water and Wi-Fi on board. Tours run in English and Russian; the FAQ says Sorokin is bilingual and "about half of his guests are English-speaking travellers." What the site leaves open, and who it suits

Cancellation, refund and payment terms sit on a separate Payment and Policies page rather than on the tour and about pages. The site does not name the partner guides outside Sydney or describe their qualifications, and the tours list shows each tour's length but not its price.
