Three local guides running private tours in Barcelona and Catalonia

Skip the Line Barcelona runs private walking and chauffeured city tours in Barcelona and private day trips around Catalonia, Spain. It is a small operator rather than a reseller: the homepage introduces the guides by name, "Carolina, Begoña, and Albert," and the prices page says "it's just the three of us here at Skip the Line Barcelona." The company says it has been "specializing in Barcelona private city tours and private day trips in and around Catalonia since 2001," and that the guides have worked "as licensed and professional tour guides since 2001." Prices are in euros.

The guides describe themselves as local Barcelonians and "proud members of AGUICAT and APIT, the two leading Guides associations of Catalonia," with their license "provided by the Catalan Tourism Board." The footer gives Número de Registre de Turisme de Catalunya GT-1213, and the homepage says the company is Biosphere Certified. On transport, it says it only works "with local transportation companies with all the relevant permits and insurance required by law."

City tours, Gaudí and day trips

The menu splits city tours into All Gaudí tours, Barcelona Walking Tours, Barcelona Chauffeured Tours, Shore Excursions and Transfers, with separate sections for Sagrada Familia, day trips and experiences. The homepage calls the Sagrada Família and Picasso Museum private tours its most popular, offered "with Fast track tickets and licensed Barcelona local guides." Other named city tours include the Rambla Gothic Quarter tour, a Miro Museum and Montjuïc Tour and Gaudi's Masterpieces, and the homepage links to private accessible tours.

The Gaudí page ties its tours to 2026, which "The Catalan Government has declared... the Gaudí Year to commemorate the 100th anniversary of his death." It lists Montserrat & Colonia Güell, Colonia Güell crypt by train, Montserrat and Barcelona, Impossible to Miss, If I were a rich man (Gaudí & Güell) and Gaudí the rookie, and notes that "Casa Vicens and Palau Güell are his first works" and "are never too busy."

Day trips go to Montserrat and the Cave of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, the ecological wineries of el Penedès, Sitges, Tarragona, Girona, Besalú, and Dalí sites including Figueres and Púbol Castle. The Girona & Besalú: Jewish Heritage day trip lasts 8 HOURS; it visits Girona's Cathedral and the Museum of Jewish History and, in Besalú, the remains of a medieval "mikveh" (a communal bath). The page says Girona is about an hour from Barcelona along the highway to France, which follows the old Roman Via Augusta, with views of the Montseny mountains and the Pyrenees on the way. The chauffeured version is listed at € 1210 for 1 to 6 people, 21% VAT included. The Wine & Picasso trip lasts 5 hours and combines the Picasso collection at the Fundació Palau, built from the legacy of Picasso's Catalan friend Josep Palau i Fabre and also showing Gargallo, Barceló and Perejaume, with a tasting of DO Alella wines at the winery Bouquet d'Alella, at € 740 chauffeured.

Published prices

The prices page lists "prices from" for each format. Walking tours for 1 to 15 people run from 220 € for a 1'5-hour tour to 240 € for 2 hours, 260 € for 3 hours, 330 € for 4 hours and 385 € for 6 hours. A 3h Gourmet Tour is 250 € and a 2h Bike Tour 230 € for 1 to 10 people. Chauffeured city tours run from 570 € to 835 €, with a 4-hour Shore Excursion at 650 €, and trips outside the city with transport run from 740 € for 5 hours to 1230 € for 8 hours. The page says the prices include "21% VAT and other Spanish taxes" but "do not include individual entrance fees." For groups of 15 or more it offers radio guides at "2'5 euros per person," and custom quotes for larger parties based on bus size.

On the day

Each tour is private: the Girona page lists "A private licensed guide only for your party." For chauffeured tours and day trips, "The guide will meet you at your hotel or apartment," and one review describes getting meeting instructions by email and meeting by the Sagrada Familia. The company says "we will take care of buying the tickets for you," and entry tickets can be paid on the day. The Girona trip excludes lunch and, on the walking version, taxis.

On access and children, the pages speak plainly. For Girona and Besalú: "Both Besalú and Girona are old towns so that mobility might be a bit of an issue. Just let us know, and we'll see if it is suitable for you." The Wine & Picasso page says "It might not be the kind of tour to do with kids" and that it "might include walking outside the winery." Girona is described as kid-friendly.

Booking and payment

Tours are booked online or by email at info@skipthelinebarcelona.com. Payment is through PayPal and SumUp; the site says no account is needed and any credit card works. The prices page says "there is a very high chance that the person answering your emails will be the same guide leading your tour." Reviews on the site, which the company selects and which a Trustindex widget says are from Google, name Carolina, Begoña and Albert repeatedly.

What the site leaves open, and who it suits

The tour pages link to a cancellation and refund policy but do not state the terms themselves, so the window is not visible without opening that page. The Girona trip appears at € 1210 on its own page and at 1230 € on the price list for an 8-hour trip. The site does not say which languages each guide works in beyond English, and it gives no fixed meeting point for walking tours.

Its strengths are clear: prices on the page, private tours only, a tiny team of licensed local guides, and honest notes on mobility and children. That suits families, couples and small groups who want a Sagrada Família visit, a Gaudí day or a Catalan day trip with one guide handling tickets and timing. Travelers looking for a shared group walking tour are not the audience.
