Where Eurobike operates and what it runs

Eurobike is an Austrian company that organizes its own cycling holidays across Europe. The footer names the operator as Eurofun Touristik GmbH, and the jobs page says the business has spent 30 years organizing active holidays across Europe under two brands, Eurobike for cycling and Eurohike for walking, with a team of around 100 staff in Obertrum am See near Salzburg. The site is in German. Its own headline figures are "400+ nachhaltige Reisen," "25+ Reiseziele in Europa" and "30 Jahre Erfahrung." The destination menu groups countries by region: Northern Europe (the Baltics, Denmark, Finland, Great Britain, Ireland, Norway, Sweden), Central Europe (Germany, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary), Western Europe (Belgium, France, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain) and Southern Europe (Albania, Greece, Italy, Croatia, Montenegro, Romania, Slovenia, Cyprus).

The format is the self-guided cycling holiday. The homepage sums it up as "individuelle Radreisen mit Gepäcktransfer" (individual cycling trips with luggage transfer), and the page on local teams says guests ride on their own but are "nie alleine" (never alone), because staff in each region are on hand. The site does not describe guide-led group departures.

The range of trips

The site sorts its catalog several ways. By trip type it lists Originalreisen (its own signature tours), tailor-made trips, bike and boat, "Radreisen mit Charme" in selected hotels, sporty trips and Sternfahrten, star-shaped trips from one base. By traveler it offers trips for families, e-bikers, long-distance riders, solo travelers and short breaks, plus a filter by difficulty level. Themes include seasonal and autumn trips, sustainable travel and crossings of the Alps.

A long list of named long-distance routes runs through the menu: the Alpe-Adria, Altmühltal, Bodensee (Lake Constance), Danube, Drava, Elbe, Etsch, Inn, Lahn, Lech, Loire, Main and Moselle routes, the North Sea and Baltic coast paths, and the Rhine, Rhône, Ruhr, Tauern and Weser routes. The footer names current favorites, among them Alpe Adria from Salzburg to Grado, Lisbon to Sagres, Porto to Lisbon and a grand Mallorca loop, and lists Passau to Vienna on the Danube, Mallorca mit Charme, a Tuscany Sternfahrt, Chiemgauer Highlights and Reschensee to Lake Garda as best rated. The "mit Charme" examples on the homepage include Algarve mit Charme at 8 days and Rhein & Reben mit Charme at 7 days.

How the trips work on the day

The pages are specific about the support. Every guest receives a digital travel pack with cycling maps, a route book and the Eurobike on Tour app, which the site says works offline. On (almost) all Originaltouren a staff member meets guests at the start for an information briefing at the hotel, going through the hotel list, any transfer or attraction vouchers and train tickets; where a personal briefing is not possible, the service hotline takes over. Luggage is collected from the hotel each morning and delivered to the next one by 18:00 at the latest.

Rental bikes are handed over on site and adjusted to the rider's height, with a short introduction, and pannier and handlebar bags are included in the rental. Riders get an accessory kit with a repair kit, pump and lock, and in a breakdown they contact the local staff, who help by phone or in person. The site lists its regional bases (Außenstellen) in Schärding on the Danube, Madeira, Mallorca, Piedmont, the Salzkammergut, Bolzano, Carinthia, Munich, Portugal, the Palatinate and Tuscany, and says local support is available daily "ohne Callcenter" (without a call center).

Guest comments on the homepage, chosen by the company, praise the hotels, the app and the luggage service; one Madeira guest warns that the island loop needs stamina because of the many climbs.

What the blog and extras show

The Radlerblog gives a feel for the trips through staff and guest reports. One staff member describes an 8-day loop around the IJsselmeer in the Netherlands with her son, 335 km in total. Another follows the Loire route from Tours to Saint-Nazaire, reaching the Atlantic after six days in the saddle, and a guest blogger rides the Alpe-Adria route from Villach in Austria to Grado in Italy. Other posts cover Flanders, the Palatinate, Carinthia's lakes, the Prosecco hills around Treviso and the Swiss Alps, where the company says its range runs "von entspannten Genussstrecken bis zu sportlicheren Varianten" (from relaxed leisure routes to sportier variants).

The "Radreisen mit Charme" line books guests into selected hotels with, in the site's words, an extra portion of comfort, elegance and taste. The company has also published its first sustainability report, and it links across to its sister brand Eurohike for walking holidays with the same luggage-transfer model.

Booking and contact

Trips are requested online or through a contact form, and the team answers by phone on +43 6219 60866 (Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00), on a free number for callers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, 0800 070 6333, or by email at office@eurobike.at. The travel specialists on the team page each cover named destinations, and one handles tailor-made trips and group requests. The homepage advertises an early-booking bonus for 2027 trips. Gift vouchers, free printed travel magazines and a newsletter are offered, and the footer links to the booking conditions (AGB), travel insurance and online payment.

What the site does not specify

The homepage and company pages carry no prices, so the cost of any trip, the size of the early-booking bonus and the rental bike fee all sit on individual tour pages or in a quote. Deposit, payment schedule and cancellation terms are in the AGB rather than on these pages. There is no general statement of daily distances or difficulty grades beyond the difficulty filter, and the site does not say how solo travelers are priced or whether an e-bike costs more to rent than a standard bike, even though it has a whole section of trips for e-bikers. Because everything is written in German, English-speaking riders should check whether the travel pack and app are available in English before booking.

Eurobike suits independent riders and couples who want to cycle a classic European route at their own pace with the logistics handled: hotels booked, bags moved, a briefing on arrival and a local team to call. It is not the choice for anyone looking for a guide riding alongside the group.
