What Headout Is and Where It Sells
Headout is an online marketplace for tours, attraction tickets, shows and other experiences, sold on behalf of suppliers rather than run by Headout itself. The homepage says "Every supplier is vetted for quality, reliability, and value," and the footer has a partner section for "Experience providers," affiliates and creators, plus a "Sell on Headout" link. Its about page says the company has served "55 million+" guests, 25 million of them "in just the last 4 years," in "196+ countries," and offers experiences "in 14 different languages." The destinations featured on the homepage are London, Rome, Paris, Lisbon, Barcelona, Naples, Athens, Dubai, Florence, Madrid, Tokyo, Amsterdam, Osaka, Melbourne, Seville and Budapest, and the footer city list ends with "+241 more." Featured products also run in Hobart, Hunter Valley, New York, Munich, Mexico City, Prague, Orlando, Granada and Krakow. The site has a USD currency selector, while each featured product shows its price in local currency (euros, pounds, dirhams, Australian or US dollars). On the company side, the about page says Headout is "built for the world, from India," with 9 offices (Bengaluru, Paris, London, Singapore, New York, Dubai, Berlin, Rome and Barcelona), and the footer gives a New York address at 82 Nassau St. The copyright line runs from 2014.
What It Sells
The theme menu is broad. Tickets cover museums, theme parks, zoos, water parks, city cards, religious sites, landmarks, observation decks, aquariums and immersive experiences. Tours include walking, guided, hop-on hop-off, city, private, bike and Segway, multi-day, photography, port-of-call, day trips and speed boats. There are separate menus for transportation (airport transfers, car rentals, ferry and train tickets, rail passes), travel services (wifi and SIM cards, luggage storage), cruises (dinner, lunch, whale watching), food and drink, a long entertainment list running from musicals and opera to magic shows and tango, adventure, aerial sightseeing, water sports, wellness, classes and sports tickets including Formula 1, football and MotoGP. The "top recommendations" carousel gives a feel for the catalog: Acropolis & Parthenon Tickets with Audio Guide from €39 (4.5 from 40,030 reviews, "Explore at your pace"); From London: Harry Potter Warner Bros. Studio Tickets with Coach Transfers from £83 (4.6 from 11,427, 6 to 7 hours, free cancellation); a Pompeii and Amalfi Coast day trip from Rome from €99 (4.7 from 319, 12 to 13 hours); Park Güell Tickets from €24 (4.5 from 48,869); a Dubai Red Dunes evening desert safari with BBQ dinner at AED 165.50, shown as 44% off an original AED 295 (4.6 from 1,167, 6 hours); a Full-Day Tasman Island Tour with Cruise and Lunch from Hobart from AU$290 (4.3 from 1,603, 10 hours); Phantom of the Opera in London from £31.25 (4.7 from 8,213); Paris Catacombs Reserved Access Tickets from €46.50 (4.5 from 8,042); and Prague Castle Guided Tour from €15.75, marked 25% off €21. A "Top things to do worldwide" row adds London theater tickets, the Vatican Museums, Disneyland Paris, Eiffel Tower tickets, the Burj Khalifa, Kennedy Space Center, Versailles, the Alhambra, the Louvre and the Colosseum.
How It Works on the Day
Headout sells the booking; the tour or ticket itself is delivered by the supplier. The homepage labels self-guided tickets "Explore at your pace" and shows a duration for guided tours and shows, such as 2 hrs 30 mins with 1 interval for the London and New York musicals, or 40 mins to 4 hrs for the Prague Castle tour. Tickets live in the app, which the site says gives "offline access to your tickets & live booking updates," and a guest review on the about page describes receiving tickets "immediately after booking." The homepage makes no general statement about meeting points, group sizes, guide languages, accessibility or age limits; its claims are platform-wide promises. Under the "Book anytime" heading it says: "Plan ahead or book the night before. There's always a slot when you need one." Several listings carry a "Selling out fast" label. Reviews on the homepage are from guests of individual products, such as a Herculaneum guided tour from Sorrento and a Kennedy Space Center combo, and are the site's own selection.
Booking, Payment and Support
The site states four platform commitments. "100% booking protection" reads: "You are fully protected end-to-end. If anything is off, we'll fix it or refund you." Under "Book with flexibility" it promises "free cancellation and pay-later options on most experiences," so the cancellation terms depend on the product, and the homepage marks individual listings "Free cancellation" where that applies. "24/7 trip support" says Headout is "always a tap away - before, during and after your trip, in all languages." Its "Best price, always" line says "We shop around so you don't have to." Support channels are listed in the footer under "Get Help 24/7": a help center, a "Call us" link and the email address support@headout.com. The app is pushed with a "save up to 80%" claim for app-only deals. The about page adds company background: "$60 million" in capital raised, a statement that the company is profitable, and news items about a Series B round and the 2024 acquisition of an AI startup called Dabble. Private tours appear as a tour category in the menu.
What the Site Leaves Open, and Who It Suits
The homepage does not state the cancellation window for any product, only whether free cancellation applies, and "pay-later options" are not explained. Group sizes, meeting points, pick-up arrangements and guide languages are not given at platform level, so those have to be checked on each product page. The vetting promise is stated, but the site does not describe how suppliers are checked or what "we fix it" involves in practice. The "Call us" link does not show a number on the page itself. Gift cards are not mentioned on the homepage or the about page. Headout suits a traveler who wants attraction tickets, a show and a day trip in a big European, Middle Eastern, Asian or Australian city in one account, with a 24/7 support promise and a refund pledge behind it. Someone who wants to know exactly which local company runs a tour, and on what terms, before paying will need to read the product page closely, because the homepage speaks for the platform rather than the supplier.
