What Traveloka Is and Where It Operates
Traveloka is an online travel platform, not a tour operator. Its about page describes it as "Southeast Asia's #1 all-in-one travel platform", a claim it footnotes as #1 in cumulative downloads from 2014 to 2025 among travel booking apps, according to SensorTower. It was founded in Indonesia in 2012 and lists operations in Australia, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam. Activities are one department among many: the same app sells flights, hotels, trains, buses and shuttles, airport transfers, car rentals, travel insurance and eSIMs. The about page gives the size of its partner network as 300+ airlines, 2M+ accommodations in 100+ countries, 800+ bus and shuttle operators in Indonesia and Vietnam, 90K+ local activities in 100+ countries and 2K+ car rental and transfer providers in 50+ countries, plus 140M+ app downloads and 14 years of operation. The activities themselves are sold on behalf of those partners, and the footer invites businesses to "Register Your Experience Business". The homepage's trending activities are filtered by the United States, Japan, France, Thailand, Vietnam and the United Kingdom, and prices on the international site are shown in US dollars.
The Range of Activities and Tickets
Theme parks and big-city attractions dominate the activity pages. The Universal Studios Japan page shows 4,129 reviews and starts from USD 63.48 for a 1-day entrance ticket, with a 1.5-day ticket at USD 102.66 (valid for 2 consecutive days, with the first visit starting at 15:00) and a 2-day ticket at USD 120.69. It also sells a long list of Universal Express Pass 4 options from USD 74.98, an Express Pass Premium Unlimited at USD 629.05, a special viewing area for the NO LIMIT! parade at USD 13.39, meal and popcorn vouchers, and a Universal VIP Group Tour of Super Nintendo World with a Kinopio's Café priority ticket at USD 317.70, which excludes the entrance ticket. The Universal Studios Singapore page shows 15,353 reviews and a 1-day ticket at USD 58.24, reduced from USD 65.05, plus a three-in-one bundle with the Singapore Oceanarium and Adventure Cove Waterpark at USD 116.77, reduced from USD 129.31, with each attraction visited once within 7 days. The Universal Studios Hollywood page starts from USD 82.33, and a 2-day ticket with the second day free is marked "Refundable". The homepage adds Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure tickets at USD 103.51, SUMMIT One Vanderbilt at USD 38.10, MoMA at USD 17.51, the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood at USD 76.89, a Seattle hop-on hop-off bus at USD 17.64 and the Big Bus hop-on hop-off tour in Chicago at USD 37.19. The USJ page also links rail products such as a JR West Kansai-Hiroshima Area Pass and nearby parks such as Hirakata Park.
Seasonal events get their own tickets. The USJ page sells an all-night Halloween Horror Nights ticket and seats for the One Piece Premiere Show 2026 from USD 25.42. The Singapore page lists Halloween Horror Nights 14, running from 25 September to 1 November, with non-peak and all-dates tickets, a Universal Studios Singapore VIP Tour Experience at USD 272.19 and an S$ 25 meal voucher. The Hollywood page carries its own Halloween Horror Nights admissions, including a day and night ticket for entry after 2 p.m. Beyond theme parks, the homepage lists Universal Orlando Resort tickets at USD 118.76 from 192.4k reviews and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway at USD 69.47.
How It Works on the Day
Most attraction tickets are sold as e-vouchers, and many product lines are marked "Voucher ready instantly". A traveler review on the USJ page notes that Express Pass tickets do not need printing and are simply scanned by staff. The product pages carry practical advice that is worth reading before choosing a date. The USJ page says entrance ticket prices and validity vary by date and asks buyers to "check the official calendar before you go", warns that tickets can sell out and that "entry without one isn't guaranteed", and explains that Super Nintendo World may need a timed entry or standby ticket on busy days. The Singapore page's tips note that the park can close early for Halloween Horror Nights and private events and advise checking the Resorts World Sentosa calendar. The USJ page's own tips warn that July and August are extremely humid and point to the park's cool zones and misting stations. Some tickets are valid only on the selected date. Guide languages, meeting points and group sizes for tours are set by the partner running each activity and appear on its own product page.
Booking, Payment and Support
Booking runs through the app or website with a Traveloka account, and the site links a how-to-book page, a help center and a contact page. The about page lists 50+ payment methods and a "24/7 Live Agent Support" promise, stating that live agents are "ready to help travellers throughout their trip". The homepage lists app-only deals, instant notifications about trip changes, and "Easy refund & reschedule" among its reasons to book, and the about page marks its best-deals and live-support claims with "T&C Apply". Refund rules are shown product by product, so the "Refundable" label on one Hollywood ticket does not mean every ticket is refundable. Ratings on the homepage are shown out of 10 with review counts, for example 9.1 for the Disneyland tickets from 127.8k reviews and 9.3 for SUMMIT One Vanderbilt from 36.5k reviews.
What the Site Leaves Open, and Who It Suits
The overview pages do not set out one cancellation policy for all activities; whether a ticket can be refunded or rescheduled has to be read on its product page before paying, and date-specific tickets leave little room for change. The platform does not describe how it vets activity partners. Traveloka suits travelers in Southeast Asia and East Asia who already use the app for flights and hotels and want theme park, attraction and transport tickets in the same place, and it covers the big American attractions too. Travelers after small, locally guided tours will find the activity catalog built more around tickets than guides.
