Paris by Tuktuk: Electric Tuk-Tuk Tours of Paris

Paris by Tuktuk runs its own chauffeur-guided tours of Paris in electric tuk-tuks, plus events, transfers and excursions around Île-de-France. The About page says the company is "la première société de transport touristique en véhicule 100% électriques née à paris en 2011" (the first tourist transport company in 100% electric vehicles, founded in Paris in 2011) and that it uses "des tricycles de fabrication hollandaise, dits tuktuk" (Dutch-built tricycles known as tuk-tuks). Tours start by default at the Place de la Concorde, and prices are in euros. The company trades as Paris Ecomobilité and says it works "main dans la main" with Allo Tuktuk, a Parisian tuk-tuk company it calls its "sœur jumelle" (twin sister), whose name it uses on social media.

The About page describes the idea as "un tourisme à hauteur d'homme" (tourism at human scale), covering must-see sights ("Louvre, Champs Elysées, Montmartre") and quieter corners ("Musée Carnavalet, Marché d'Aligre, Butte aux Cailles"). The homepage adds "Le revetement de nos véhicules est rouge, mais on roule 100% vert!" (our vehicles are red, but we drive 100% green).

The Vehicles and the Tours

The homepage presents three vehicles. The tuk-tuk is "INSOLITE & DEPAYSANT" and "le + spacieux - 6 places" (the most spacious, 6 seats). The Méhari, "Une icône française, réinventée, rétro-pop, décapotable" (a reinvented French icon, retro-pop, convertible) and electric, is labeled the most comfortable, and the 2CV, "Élégante, intemporelle et facétieuse" (elegant, timeless and mischievous), the most typical. The Méhari and 2CV are booked through dedicated sister sites, EricinParis.com and 2cv-paris-visite.fr; this site is for the tuk-tuks.

The homepage says visitors can "Choisissez parmi une sélection de plus de 14 tours" (choose from more than 14 tours). The tours page groups them as "Le Paris des cartes postales" (postcard Paris), "Le Paris des parisiens" (the Parisians' Paris), romantic tours, night tours, a Cocktail Tour, a "FUN FAMILY TOUR," and personalized tours, and themed pages include tours "EN FAMILLE" and "SOUS LA PLUIE" (in the rain), the latter promising to keep riders dry "dans nos tuktuks imperméables" (in our waterproof tuk-tuks). Beyond the city, the homepage lists half-day or full-day excursions to "Versailles, Giverny, Chartres, la Normandie," and a newer airport service: "Prise en charge à l'aéroport en van: de 1 à 9 personnes" (airport pickup by van for 1 to 9 people) from Roissy-CDG or Orly, with a guide giving "les premiers bons plans sur la ville" (first tips on the city) on the way in.

Prices

The pricing page publishes one table that "vaut pour l'ensemble de nos Tours" (applies to all our tours), priced by length and passengers per tuk-tuk:

• 1 h: 130€ for 1 to 3 people, 135€ for 4, 140€ for 5, 145€ for 6
• 1 h 1/2: 165€, 175€, 185€, 195€
• 2 h: 190€, 210€, 230€, 240€

These prices are for a departure from the Place de la Concorde, "c'est là que nos tuktuks sont stationnés" (where our tuk-tuks are parked); another starting point adds "un surcoût de 20€." They apply "du petit matin jusqu'à 18 heures" (from early morning to 6 PM), and "À partir de 18 heures une surcôte unique de 20€ est applicable" (from 6 PM a single 20€ supplement applies). For events, the page says the prices are "une indication seulement" (an indication only) and asks for a quote request.

How the Tours Work

The FAQ says tours start "à la Place de la Concorde (au pied de la grande-roue)" (at the foot of the big wheel), but the driver can pick guests up anywhere in Paris if they say so when booking. Each tuk-tuk takes "jusqu'à six voyageurs (en plus du chauffeur)" (up to six passengers plus the driver), and with "14 tuktuks au total" the company says it can carry "jusqu'à 84 personnes en même temps." On winter, the FAQ says the tuk-tuks "sont entièrement couverts pour l'hiver d'un revêtement transparent" (fully covered for winter with a transparent cover) against rain and wind, and "un plaid bien chaud est à votre disposition" (a warm blanket is provided). On the drivers: "Tous nos chauffeurs sont nés et ont grandi à Paris" (all our drivers were born and raised in Paris), and they "ne sont pas intrusifs" but are happy to share tips. A hiring notice asks for drivers who "parler très bien anglais (80% de nos clients sont anglophones)" and hold a VMDTR, taxi or VTC card.

Asked whether it holds a label, the FAQ says the company is a member of the Paris tourist office ("adhérent à l'Office du Tourisme de la ville de Paris"), and the homepage says it belongs to the "FEDERATON DES TUK-TUKS PARISIENS," which it says awards a label on safety and compliance criteria.

Events and Weddings

The wedding page offers "de un à 14 véhicules 6 places" (from one to 14 six-seat vehicles), says the fleet can carry "jusqu'à 80 personnes," and offers shuttles between ceremony and reception. Tuk-tuks can be decorated with "fleurs, bouquets, banderoles, paillettes, etc," the company can serve champagne, and it says it can change the vehicles' red covering to another color. The page also recommends a wedding photographer. EVJF (bachelorette) outings, team building and street marketing are quoted on request.

Booking and Terms

The pricing page says "Règlement à la réservation en carte bancaire ou chèque, espèces ou chèques vacances le jour du tour" (payment at booking by card or cheque, or cash or holiday vouchers on the day), while the FAQ lists cheque, travel cheque and cash, with bank transfer possible for events. On cancellation it is specific: "Toute annulation est intégralement remboursée si annulation 10 jours avant la prestation" (any cancellation 10 days before is fully refunded), and with less notice the company undertakes to move the tour to another date. A phone number is given for event quotes.

What the Site Leaves Open

The site does not say whether guiding in English is guaranteed on every tour, although the hiring notice and a review praising a driver's "anglais parfait" point that way. It gives no child discounts or minimum age, and it does not say how a sub-10-day cancellation is handled if no new date suits. The capacity figures also differ, 80 on the wedding page and 84 on the pricing page and FAQ.

Paris by Tuktuk suits couples, families and small groups who want Paris at street level with a Parisian driver, whether a one-hour spin from Concorde or an 8-hour day, and it is set up for rain and winter. Large parties and weddings can book the whole fleet, and the published price grid makes the cost clear before writing in.
