A Vienna visitor card with transport and partner discounts

The Vienna Welcome Card "by DocLX" is a visitor card for Vienna, Austria, sold by DocLX Welcome Card GmbH, Geweygasse 13, 1190 Vienna. It combines a Vienna public transport ticket with discounts and direct bookings at partner sights, museums, exhibitions, restaurants and mobility providers. The company does not run the attractions; it sells the card and handles bookings of partner offers through its app, and the footer credits the system to DocLX City Card Solutions. The card covers Vienna, and its transport part is limited to the core zone ("Kernzone Wien"). Prices are in euros. The site is in German with an English version.

The homepage calls it "Die günstigste Touristenkarte Wiens mit einem Ticket für die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel", the cheapest tourist card in Vienna that includes a public transport ticket, and says it also carries the best BIG BUS and CAT Bus offer in the city. Both are the company's own claims.

What the card includes

For its chosen validity, each card except the ToGo version includes the U-Bahn, buses, trams, the Schnellbahn and ÖBB trains in the core zone, and the Nightline night buses. It also lets holders take one child up to their 15th birthday or one dog along free on public transport. On top of transport come the discounts, which the site groups into activities, direct bookings, food, museums, nightlife, sights and tours.

The 72h flex version gives 72 hours of benefits and discounts plus 2 separate 24-hour transport tickets to use on any days, so a museum day without rides, as the site puts it, does not use up transport. The ToGo card, at € 7,90, gives 72 hours of benefits and discounts only, with public transport "NICHT inkludiert", not included. The Big Bus add-on mentions a 7-day card. The homepage does not show the prices of the 24-hour, 72-hour or 7-day cards themselves, but a banner advertises 10% off the 24h card with the codes VIENNASPRING2026 and WELCOME2025.

Add-ons and savings

At purchase, buyers can add the CAT Bus airport transfer between Vienna Schwechat airport and the city for € 20,00, with one child per card riding free, and the Big Bus hop-on hop-off for € 33,00 for the full validity of the card (72h on the 7-day card). The site's own example for a 3-day stay puts the normal prices of those at 86,90 for 72 hours of Big Bus and 24,90 for the CAT Bus, a combined saving of € 58,80.

Food partners and mobility

The food category promises discounts at Viennese, Italian, Asian and other restaurants. It lists 20% off with Food Tours Vienna, which pairs food with a city tour, Kaiser's for Kaiserschmarrn, Restaurant Klee am Hanslteich for Viennese cooking by a pond, a baking class at Vollpension billed as baking with grandma, and the Lebanese restaurant PARLOR. It also offers the NeoTaste restaurant app free for 2 months to new users or 25% off 10 months for all users, and 50% off Biogena One supplements. Each category page can be viewed as a list or on a map. The mobility partners named on the homepage go well beyond public transport: CAT Bus, Big Bus, bikes, e-scooters, e-bikes, e-mopeds, cargo e-bikes, Segway, rickshaw, taxi, e-car sharing, car rental and boats.

How it works

The site pitches the card as "Dein Fast-Entry-Tool": tickets, entries, credit, discounts and benefits are booked directly in the app. The menu shows how it works, a code redemption page, a FAQ and a shop, and a "Vienna by locals" section. Buyers who get a code, for example from a hotel, redeem it in the free Vienna Welcome Card app, which then holds the card and the partner offers in one place.

For hotels and resellers

The B2B page explains how the card reaches visitors through third parties. Affiliates earn 10% commission on each card sold through their link, excluding the CAT airport add-on. Resellers can generate codes by API or from an Excel list, paying monthly only for codes that are redeemed; they can also receive a discount code for the webshop and forward the purchase confirmation to guests, who then activate the card by link shortly before first using public transport. Hotel receptions can print codes on demand or send them as PDFs before arrival, and blister cards for sale at hotels, campsites and kiosks come in packs of 10. The same page invites culture, leisure, food, nightlife and mobility businesses to join as partners.

What the site leaves open, and who it suits

The homepage does not list the prices of the main cards, a cancellation or refund policy (the AGB, or terms, are linked), or what happens if a card is activated by mistake. The savings examples are the company's own calculations. Child fares for the card itself and accessibility on partner services are not described on these pages.

The card suits visitors who will ride Vienna's public transport often and want the CAT airport transfer and a hop-on hop-off bus at the add-on prices, and the 72h flex fits a stay with some walking days. The ToGo card at € 7,90 suits visitors who already have a transport ticket and only want the discounts. Guests of partner hotels may be offered the card at reception as a printed code, which is worth asking about before buying online, and anyone comparing it with other Vienna passes should check the AGB for the refund rules first.
