Dubai helicopter tours from a central helipad

HeliDubai runs its own helicopter sightseeing flights over Dubai, United Arab Emirates, as well as private charters and aerial filming. Its about page says it was "Established in 2005" and calls itself "the UAE's premier helicopter service provider." Every sightseeing tour departs from and returns to its helipad inside the Dubai Police Academy, Al Sufouh 1, opposite Mall of the Emirates; the about page adds that the company also operates near Dubai International Airport for charters. The routes stay over Dubai: Palm Jumeirah, Atlantis The Palm, Burj Al Arab, The World Islands, Dubai Marina, Burj Khalifa, Dubai Canal, Dubai Creek and Old Dubai, with the longest route reaching Palm Jebel Ali. Prices are set in UAE dirhams (AED), with US dollar equivalents shown beside them. The about page says the helipad is "within a 20-minute flight of the city's top landmarks," and describes the charter side as executive helicopter transfers across Dubai and the Middle East plus aerial photography and high-definition filming for film productions and corporate clients. The site also runs a blog, with pieces such as a guide to the 30-minute Grand Tour and an article on making the most of a Dubai helicopter flight.

5 routes, shared or private

The homepage offers "12-, 17-, 22-, 30- and 40-minute sightseeing routes, with shared seats and private flights available." Each flight carries a maximum of 5 passengers; the FAQ says you can book individual seats on selected tours or reserve the complete helicopter, and one guest review mentions landing the front seat beside the pilot. A promotion running until 30th Sep 2026 takes 20% off; the homepage shows both the regular and promotional per-passenger prices:

• 12-Minute Iconic Tour, for "Short schedules and first-time visitors," covering "Essential landmarks and Jumeirah coastline": AED 710 regular, AED 568 on promotion. A private flight is listed at AED 3,550. The packages page describes this route as Palm Jumeirah and Burj Al Arab, then the beaches and The World Islands, with views toward Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Canal and the towers of Business Bay.
• 17-Minute Palm Tour, with extended views of Palm Jumeirah and the Jumeirah coastline: AED 945 regular, AED 756 on promotion; private AED 4,725.
• 22-Minute Vision Tour, which the tour page describes as combining the coast with Burj Khalifa, Dubai Canal, Dubai Creek, Bur Dubai's traditional wind towers and Old Dubai: AED 1,299 regular, AED 1,040 on promotion. The tour page lists the private flight at AED 5,196, while the packages page shows AED 6,495.
• 30-Minute Grand Tour, adding Ain Dubai, Bluewaters Island, Emirates Hills, Jumeirah Lakes Towers and Dubai Marina: AED 1,770 regular, AED 1,416 on promotion; private AED 8,850.
• 40-Minute Odyssey Tour, private only, from Palm Jebel Ali and Dubai Marina across the coast to Burj Khalifa, Business Bay, Meydan Racecourse, Dubai Creek and Old Dubai. It is "priced per flight rather than per passenger," at AED 8,960 on the tour page (AED 11,200 on the packages page), for up to 5 passengers. The page calls it "the broadest published route across Dubai."

The site says rates rise at peak times, with a surcharge "especially during the Christmas and New Year period." A real-estate flight is offered for viewing Dubai property from the air, and a request form on the homepage notes "6 months validity from the date of issue."

On the day

The tour pages set out the routine. Arrive at least 45 minutes before departure with a passport or government-issued photo ID. Every passenger is weighed so the team can plan seating and aircraft balance, and everyone attends a mandatory safety briefing before being escorted to the helicopter. The weight limit is 115 kg per passenger per seat, and the Odyssey page adds that passengers over 140 kg cannot fly. The FAQ says children aged two years and above may travel, subject to the company's conditions, and the Vision page says children must buy their own seat and fly with an adult when required. Large bags go in lockers; casual photography is allowed, but selfie sticks, iPads, HD camcorders and lenses longer than 400 mm are restricted without approval. The site advises flat, secure shoes and no loose garments, hats or trailing scarves. Flights run daily from 0930 AM to 1800 PM, including public holidays.

Routes are not fixed. The tour pages say "Flight times, routes, viewing order and duration may change because of weather, Air Traffic Control or operational requirements," and describe the landmarks as what you "may see" depending on the approved flight path.

Photos, booking and safety

HeliPhotos, the company's photo arm, sells digital photos, green-screen portraits, printed souvenirs, aerial photos, raw footage and edited flight videos, plus private photoshoots for proposals and birthdays; professional photos are not included in the ticket. Booking is online 24/7, with a toll-free number within the UAE (800 fLY(359)), +971 4 208 1455 from abroad, and WhatsApp.

The homepage promises "Free cancellation before 24hrs*," and the FAQ says flights "may be rescheduled or cancelled(Without any charges)" when weather, visibility, air traffic control or operations prevent a safe flight. The safety policy commits the company to full compliance with GCAA and ICAO requirements under a Safety Management System. The homepage shows a Google rating of 4.9 "by Thousands of Guests," and the company says its YouTube channel passed 100,000 subscribers.

What the site leaves open, and who it suits

The price lists do not always agree: the 12-minute tour is "from AED 568" in one FAQ answer and "from AED 710" in another, and the private prices for the Vision and Odyssey tours differ between the tour pages and the packages page, so check the figure at checkout. The asterisk on the free cancellation line is not explained next to it, and the site does not name the helicopter type. The Odyssey page still carries an unfinished line about children ("Confirm one consistent minimum-age policy before publishing"), so rely on the FAQ's age rule and confirm it when booking.

HeliDubai suits visitors who want a short first helicopter flight over the Palm and the coast, and groups or couples willing to book the whole aircraft for the 40-minute Odyssey. The clear check-in, weight and photography rules make the day easy to plan.
